Tinamastes in a small but growing mountain town located half way between Playa Dominical, the costal beach town on the Southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, and San Isidro, the fastest growing city in Costa Rica. It is a 20 min to drive to each place on the paved mountain highway. Tinamastes sit at 2500 feet elevation and has a fabulous climate for growing food and it is much cooler then down at sea level even though it is only 20 min away. There are several restaurants and small grocery stores along the highway and also an organic farmers market once a week. From the highway there are several roads that take you out into beautiful valleys where there is a mix of farmland and rainforest perfect for living off the land. There are fabulous mountain and ocean views. The most well known area is called the Diamante Valley, named after the 600 ft tall Diamante Waterfall. The same valley is home to Nauyaca Waterfall which is a huge tourist attraction with amazing swimming areas and cliffs to jump off. Both waterfalls are so stunning and make this a very magical place to live as many of the properties have views of one or both of the falls. There are several intentional communities in the area with likeminded people that are looking to live in peace and grow their own food and be self sustainable. Tinamastes is a magical place that is not far from the beach but feels like a different world.
