During the owner’s early years travelling, they lived in Bali and fell in love with the stunning architecture of the area. This was the inspiration to create a piece of Bali in Ojochal, and on their last visit to Bali, they designed a traditional Balinese style wooden house. This hand-crafted structure was built on the island of Bali, then disassembled and shipped in pieces to Ojochal, where the owners and a team of local workers re-assembled this authentic gem surrounded by the flora and fauna that reminded them of their time in Bali. Named “Casa Rica”, this home is the highlight of the property and is the most popular rental casita. The one-bedroom Casa Rica has a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable bathroom featuring a natural stone sink and a refreshing private plunge pool surrounded by a wooden deck. Just steps away is a Balinese-style gazebo. From the porch, the mountain and garden views are stunning and ever-changing.
The second casita, Casa Bambu, is petite and breezy and includes a spacious screened-in porch, fully equipped kitchen, private outdoor soaker pool and bathroom. Surrounded by vibrant heliconia and ginger flowers, as well as the casa’s namesake bamboo, a unique and inviting casita keeps its guest comfortable and grounded.
A third structure, the Treehouse, is nestled in the jungle right beside the seasonal creek for adventurous nature lovers. This elevated platform is rustic and offers guests a chance to truly disconnect and connect with the nature. It is equipped with a private balcony and a full bathroom including a screened-in hot water shower. The bottom platform is the ideal location for yoga, meditation or to simply lounge in the hammock and listen to the peaceful sounds of nature.
An additional casita named Casa Sendero, is located adjacent to the internal trails allowing guests to wander past strands of bamboo, vibrant tropical flowers and the lovely stream. It is a comfortable and intimate hideaway equipped with a bathroom, kitchen and a screened-in porch that’s perfect for lazy, breezy relaxation.
Located just down a trail from Casa Sendero is another simple structure, serving as an extra room for volunteers or those comfortable with the most basic necessities. This structure is a wood and screened enclosed with a deck and vast openings to the jungle surrounding it. Privacy and tranquility are abundant. The final structure located on Bali Rica is currently used as the volunteer’s base and is a functional building with 3 bedrooms, outdoor kitchen and 2 bathrooms as well as a laundry facility.
The property also features a communal vegetable garden project as well as numerous fruit trees including Banana, Pineapple, various citrus trees, Starfruit, Yucca, cacao and others
