Some properties in the Southern Zone give you a peek of the Pacific between the trees. This one hands you the whole horizon. Set on 1,302 square meters in Ojochal, this 2011-built home (re-modeled and expanded in 2022) delivers a full, unobstructed ocean view along with mountain, valley, and jungle panoramas that shift with the light throughout the day, and city lights twinkling below after dark. If you have been searching for a home in Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific where the view alone justifies the drive, this is worth a serious look.
The Community
Ojochal sits in that sweet spot where a strong expat community and local Tico culture blend easily, and this property reflects that balance. You are close enough to town for dinner at one of the area’s well-regarded restaurants, yet private enough that you will rarely see a neighbor. Access is easy, two-wheel drive all the way, which matters more than people expect once they have lived here a while.
The Grounds
The 1,302 square meter lot is fully landscaped and fenced, with a gated entry that gives you peace of mind whether you are here full time or locking up for a few months. A few fruit trees dot the property, and you can walk to a nearby river, where the sound of running water and, at times, a distant waterfall carries up to the house. Hummingbirds work the garden most mornings, butterflies drift through by afternoon, and it is not unusual to spot scarlet macaws or hear howler monkeys sounding off in the tree line. Toucans show up often enough that you stop reaching for your phone to photograph them.
The Home
Built with prefab concrete construction and a durable metal roof, this single-story home is designed for easy living. Tile floors run throughout, and the open-plan kitchen flows straight into the living room, anchored by a large island that doubles as a breakfast bar, the kind of layout that keeps whoever is cooking part of the conversation. Two bedrooms and one bathroom keep the footprint efficient, with air conditioning in the bedrooms and ceiling fans throughout for the rest of the house. The kitchen comes equipped with a full appliance package, refrigerator, stove and oven, washer and dryer, so you can move in and start living rather than shopping and installing. Water comes through a legal water ASADA connection and electricity runs on the ICE grid. Fiber and cable internet plus solid cellular coverage mean remote work is genuinely practical here, not just a promise.
Outdoor Living
This is where the property earns its keep. A covered terraza looks straight out over that panoramic ocean view, and it is easy to imagine your morning coffee out there as the light comes up over the mountains behind you. The private pool gives you a place to cool off through the warm afternoons, and the grounds offer more than one distinct outdoor zone, so you can find a spot for quiet reading, another for entertaining, and another just to sit and listen to the jungle wake up or wind down. Nights bring their own soundtrack, frogs, insects, and the occasional howler call drifting in from the hills.
The Area
Ojochal proper is a short drive away for groceries, restaurants, and services, with Uvita and the beaches of Marino Ballena National Park about 20 minutes north, and Dominical roughly 15 minutes beyond that. It is close enough for regular outings, far enough to keep this property’s privacy intact.
Whether you are a retired couple looking for a forever view, a part-time resident wanting a serious vacation home, or a remote worker ready to relocate full time, this property gives you room to grow into it, so reach out and let’s schedule a showing while it’s still available.
