Riverfront Renovated Cabin Near Playa Dominical
If you’re looking for an affordable piece of Costa Rica with a beautiful river, tropical fruit trees, valley views, and easy access to the beaches, this 2,517 m² (0.62-acre) property in San Juan de Dios offers a unique opportunity.
The property extends from an elevated area overlooking the beautiful jungle down to a swimmable river with its own private riverside beach area. Several established tropical fruit trees are scattered throughout the property, adding to its natural character and giving you a great start on creating your own small tropical garden.
At the top of the property is a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom cabin that has recently received renovations and is being sold furnished. The cabin is simple and best suited as a vacation getaway, fishing cabin, surfing base, glamping-style retreat, or real estate investment property rather than a conventional full-time residence.
For the right buyer, that’s part of its appeal.
Bring your fishing gear, surfboards, hiking boots, and a hammock. You already have a comfortable place to stay while enjoying the property and exploring everything this part of Costa Rica has to offer. Over time, a new owner could continue improving the existing cabin and landscaping or explore the possibilities for the land according to their own vision. There is plenty of room to expand and no building restrictions! 100% clean and clear title.
Your Own Riverfront Escape
From the cabin, stairs lead down through the tropical property to the river below. At the bottom, you’ll find a private riverside beach and relaxation area where you can swim, cool off, read a book, meditate, have a picnic with friends, or simply sit beside the water and enjoy the sounds of nature.
This is the kind of property that should appeal to someone who spends more time outdoors than indoors—a surfer, fisherman, naturalist, adventurer, or anyone looking for a simple Costa Rican escape without the price tag of a luxury home.
Close to Beaches, Waterfalls & Southern Costa Rica Adventures
Despite its peaceful valley setting, the property is within easy driving distance of the Playa Dominical area and its famous surf beaches, giving you the ability to spend the morning at the ocean and the afternoon swimming in your own river.
The surrounding region is also known for its spectacular rivers and waterfalls, including Eco Chontales and numerous other natural attractions tucked into the mountains behind Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific Coast.
It’s an excellent base for surfing, fishing, hiking, waterfall exploring, wildlife watching, swimming, and discovering the back roads and small communities of southern Costa Rica.
